Every match is scored using CIEDE2000 (ΔE), the industry-standard measure of how different two colours actually look to the human eye — the same kind of metric used in textiles, print, and photography.
ΔE under 1 is imperceptible · 1–2 shows up only on close inspection · 2–10 is visible at a glance · above 10, the colors are more different than alike.
